Private messaging allows you to send a message to another registered user of Cancer Chat. It is like a bit like an email but is more anonymous because it doesn’t show your email address. Private messages can’t be seen by other users of Cancer Chat. The private messaging facility is only available by request.
How do I request to have private messaging switched on?
If you are registered on Cancer Chat and would like to use the private messaging service, you need to email Cancer Chat
How do I send private messages to other members?
Once you have private messaging enabled, you need to be registered and logged-in to send a private message. Only members who have the private messaging facility enabled will be able to receive messages. There are various ways to send a private message to another Cancer Chat user:
1. View the Cancer Chat member's profile by clicking on their avatar picture
2. Once you are on the users profile page, select Send private message in the right hand menu
Alternatively you can
1. Click on Your account at the top of the Cancer Chat homepage
2. Select Private messages from the drop down list
3. Once on the Private Messaging page, click on Compose private message on the left hand side of the screen

1. You can either type in the username of the Cancer Chat member you wish to send a private message to, or click Select people and search for
the member
No private information, such as your email address, is ever disclosed in a private message
How do I report a private message to a moderator?
If a member sends you a private message that you feel breaks our terms and conditions or house rules, please report the message by sending it to user Flag_Abuse
